Chantilly Robotics Team 612
Each year students from Chantilly Robotics compete in the NASA F.I.R.S.T.
(For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition. This is a nationally recognized NASA Robotics Competition
that encourages and inspires high school students across the nation to design, build, program, and test a robot against other teams
in a three day tournament. The overall goal of the FIRST program is to generate enthusiasm for science and engineering fields
at the high school level, and encourage students to continue their studies at college. Over $14.8 million in scholarships is available
to participants. This will be Chantilly's eleventh year of competition. In recognition of its efforts, Chantilly Robotics 612 has been
awarded the prestigious Chairman's Award at the Washington DC Regional (2010) and for 3 consecutive years before that;
Buckeye Regional (2008), Chesapeake Regional (2007) and NASA/VCU Regional (2006). We face teams with many years of experience and
corporate sponsorship, and we are looking to expand our corporate base of support.
